I Have Rights, Mobile Info Team and ELA presented evidence to the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe in their review of the implementation of M.S.S. v. Belgium and Greece & Rahimi v. Greece, denouncing the appalling conditions still faced by asylum-seekers in Greece.
13 years on from the landmark rulings, the Greek state has failed to comply with the decision.
We call on the Committee of Ministers to urge Greece to ensure the respect of asylum seekers’ dignity and their access to legal assistance, vulnerability assessments, effective remedies, and to use detention only as a last resort.
